Watch Everything, Remedy Where You Can And Where You Cannot, Be Still
No one could have predicted the measures which have had to be taken as a result of the Covid19 virus, and how many more changes we will have to make to our lives as the situation unfolds. The loss of lives and the impact on the health of many people puts so much into perspective.
Here at Aspects we are working hard to minimise the disruption for our customers as much as possible, but our primary concern is for the safety of our staff, suppliers and retail partners.
A meeting of the Aspects Board, together with relevant members of a Covid-19 task force, takes place each morning and decisions are made daily to anticipate action we can take and responses we can make. Regular bulletins are being sent out to employees as the situation unfolds so that they are aware of measures they can or must take.
Our warehouse remains open, we have adequate stocks of most products, we are fulfilling orders and as much as possible are maintaining our support for our retail partners and safeguarding our brand owners' business plans.
We are now all working from home and communication systems have been established to allow every member of staff to be in contact and to work with our IT systems. We hope that our “business as normal” mantra is maintaining our normal service as much as possible.
Many of our staff work in retail outlets around the country and we have other employees whose job it is to keep in touch with them. Inevitably, as cities are placed into measures which restricts movements, and stores are closed, how we are able to carry on as normal will change. We have put in place opportunities to work from home for these staff, with additional support such as training modules to undertake.
Of course we need to be as flexible as possible to help all our staff, stores and partners, and that is our aim. Things will certainly continue to change in the short and mid-term, but we have to take a longer term view and that is what we will soon focus on, once we have put in place short term measures.
Keep safe, everyone – and remember – you just have to look for a gap in the clouds to see a ray of sunshine!
