Eight & Bob

In 1937, a young John F. Kennedy met Parisian aristocrat and perfumer, Albert Fouquet, in the French Riviera - not only was JFK charmed by the man, he was also intrigued by his captivating scent. Upon his return to America, JFK requested to be sent eight more samples of Albert’s creation "and if your production allows, another one for Bob". From then on, Albert was inundated with requests from Hollywood greats such as Cary Grant and James Stewart who wanted to try the unique fragrance for themselves. Today, Eight & Bob continues to be one of the most exclusive scents, preferred by the world’s most classic men and women.

Jim Jackson 19.09.42 – 18.02.21

It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of Jim Jackson, our beloved co-founder, who died peacefully in hospital in Bergerac, France on February 18th, 2021.

Jim died, leaving behind Jill, his adoring wife and companion of 45 years; his dear son Andrew, his daughter in law, Kate; Holly, his only granddaughter; his niece Daisy and his nephew Ben. And his faithful and loving dogs, Honey and Jack, whom he loved.

Jim was a man devoted to living life to its fullest. A deeply compassionate man and one whose generosity was legend, he adored good food, good wine, good music and good times. He was a raconteur par excellence, and he brought warmth and laughter to any occasion.

He was immensely proud of the business he founded with Jill in 1989 Aspects Beauty Company. Through thick and thin, he supported the aims of the company and has left the legacy of an organisation whose culture reflected his own. Jim will be remembered for all the positive things he did for people, for the company, the industry, his employees, for his family and his friends, with joy and gratitude and grace.

The family will in due course announce a celebration of Jim’s life and achievements. There will also be a foundation in his name, which will provide support for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to enter business life as a career and details will be revealed later this year.

Jim is being buried in the village graveyard of the commune in France that he loved so much, St Avit Riviere and the family ask for some period of silence and peace in which to mourn.

Please, rather than sending flowers, the family would prefer if donations were made to the foundation that is being established.

Jim Jackson. Rest in Peace, Adieu, you wonderful human being. Thank you for enriching our lives.
