Aspects were delighted to hear the news that the ever-charming Richard E. Grant has been nominated for a Best Supporting Actor Award in this year's BAFTAs for his role in the upcoming film, Can You Ever Forgive Me? This is Grant's first BAFTA nomination and he took to Twitter to say that he was 'absolutely chuffed to bits' at the announcement.

Can You Ever Forgive Me? is a comedy-drama based on the true story of Lee Israel, a failing biographer who tries to breathe new life into her career by forging letters from dead celebrities. Richard plays Jack – Lee’s troublesome but endearing accomplice. His performance in the role has also been honoured with nominations at both the 2019 Golden Globes and the New York Film Critics Circle Awards.

We will all be glued to the BAFTAs on February 10th and keeping our fingers firmly crossed for the big win!

Further to our recent announcement regarding Richard E. Grant's BAFTA nomination, we’ve just heard the fantastic news that Richard is ALSO up for the Best Supporting Actor gong in the 2019 Academy Awards! In a video posted on Instagram, Richard marked the occasion with a visit to the £30 per week, single room he lived in more than three decades ago: “I’m absolutely overwhelmed, 36 years ago I rented this bedsit here...I cannot believe that 36 years later I am standing here as a 62-year-old man having an Oscar nomination!”

Congratulations Richard, we salute you!
